History of Khabarovsk Krai
Man settled the territory of the Khabarovsk Krai in the Mesolithic era. In the 1970s, on the Gasya cliff near the Amur River, the Neolithic Osipov culture (≈13,000 years ago) was identified – the source of the most ancient ceramics in Russia. It is also found in northern Japan.
Since ancient times, Paleo-Asiatic, Tungus and Mongolian tribes have lived on the territory of the Amur region. In the XIII–XV centuries, China organized expeditions to the Amur. In the 15th century, a Yongnin Buddhist temple was built near the Tyr village. After the departure of the Chinese temple wasn't visited by the locals.
In 1639, a detachment of Cossacks led by Ivan Moskvitin went to the shores of the Okhotsk Sea and set up a village on the Ulya River. In 1649, the explorer Yerofei Khabarov compiled a "Drawing of the Amur River". Since then, interest in the Far East has not subsided.
The Amur region was quickly mastered by settlers. By the beginning of the 1680s, up to 800 souls lived in the Amur basin. Good harvests were gathered, a large ore deposit was discovered. The process of development of the region was interrupted due to the aggression of the Qing Empire. In 1689, the Russian Tsardom signed the Treaty of Nerchinsk, according to which they left the Amur.
About 160 years later Nikolai Muravyov, Governor-General of Eastern Siberia (from 1847 to 1861), said: "Whoever owns the mouths of the Amur, will also own Siberia." With the broad support of Muravyov, in 1850 Gennady Nevelskoy (who proved that Sakhalin is an island) raised the Russian flag at the mouth of the Amur and founded Nikolaevsk-on-Amur.
Until the end of the 19th century, the settlement of the Amur region proceeded at a slow pace. But with the opening of the Trans-Baikal (1900) and Chinese-Eastern (1902) railways, as well as the war with Japan (1904–1905), the situation changed. From 1900 to 1913, about 300000 people arrived in the Amur region. There were three cities on the territory: Khabarovsk, Nikolaevsk-on-Amur and Okhotsk.
On April 6, 1920, the Far Eastern Republic was created to prevent a military clash between Soviet Russia and Japan. In 1921, Japan, unable to diplomatically subdue FER to its influence, sponsored white troops (but this had no result). On November 15, 1922, the Far Eastern Republic was transformed into the Far Eastern Region of the RSFSR.

Khabarovsk tour is the pride of our company!
Khabarovsk is one of the largest cities in the Far East, and the Khabarovsk Territory is a major cultural region. Of course, it is famous for cultural monuments of ancient tribes, deep caves, as well as beautiful landscapes of the sea and mountains. The most beautiful Shantar archipelago stands apart.
But we are not called "Most Expensive Tour Association" for free (calembour activated). Thanks to META (our name has several meanings, including “Machine that Emend Time Accurately”), we present an unique travel experience in Khabarovsk Krai. Every tourist can go back in time and see the Amur flood in 2013, its former course until the 1980s, try to scare the wild Jurchens, take pictures with the Cossack colonists, fight in the Civil War or in the Jinn-Liao War of the early 12th century (for the safety of history weapons are not combat) and confirm that there really is not a single settlement on the Shantar archipelago. The price is only 380% of the cost of positron fuel from our time machine (about 8√⅓^10⁶₽ at the exchange rate on 09/12/2043).
