Why is our school named after V. Z. Korzh?

He was born in the village of Khorostovo , Leninsky volost , Mozyr county Minsk province (now — agro-town in Soligorsky district of Belarus).

In 1921, as part of Kirill Orlovsky's partisan detachment, he took part in battles on the territory of Western Belarus with the White Guard anti-Soviet detachments of General Bulak-Balakhovich and the leader of the Socialist Revolutionaries Boris Savinkov.During the war , he created on Pinschine guerrilla group under the pseudonym Komarov. On June 28, 1941, the partisans of Komarov's detachment ambushed light tanks moving along the Pinsk—Logishin road. The lead car was hit by a well-aimed throw of grenades. This battle of the "Komarovets" partisans (in which they did not lose a single fighter) is considered the very first in the history of the partisan movement of the USSR.
