Banff Park is the largest in Canada, it is a UNESCO protected nature reserve. There are diverse landscapes and a rich natural world, amazing lakes, magnificent forests, real glaciers, huge mountains, stunning landscapes – and these are not all the features of the park! The tourist and wellness infrastructure is actively developing, hiking and cycling routes are being laid. Banff Park covers an area of 6641 sq. km., and in every part of it the heart freezes with admiration — the indescribable beauty and the purest air of the reserve beckon, forcing you to come back here again.
More than half of Banff's territory is covered with mountain forests. Pine trees, aspens, juniper grow here. Banff is also famous for its rich "collection" of mosses (about 250 species) and lichens (about 410 species). You can meet them on rocky areas located throughout the park.
The park is inhabited by numerous wild animals. Most often you can see a red squirrel here. Banff is also home to many predators – cougar, wolverine, lynx.
The nature of the park is beautiful all year round: from June to September, tourists come for mountain descents, cycling, mountaineering. In winter, ski trails with different levels of difficulty open throughout the park: for beginners and professionals. In addition to skiing, you can go snowboarding, sledding, skating, dog sledding.
