The Rocky Mountains cross North America from north to south. Some of them are located on the territory of Canada, and some on the land of the USA. The Canadian Rockies consist mainly of limestone and shale rocks. Their height reaches 4 thousand meters above sea level. Most of the mountains belong to the territory of national parks and nature reserves. Taiga forests, alpine meadows, snowy peaks, mountain lakes and stormy rivers make up a typical picture of these places. The Rocky Mountains are home to foxes, deer, coyotes and the most dangerous predator of the region, the grizzly.
Such is Mount Robson, which simultaneously became the highest peak of the Rocky Mountains. Robson is the main attraction of the park, whose territory is located in British Columbia. Its height is 3,959 meters, and many residents of British Columbia consider Robson to be the highest in the entire area of the region, although in fact it is inferior to such four-thousandths as Waddington and Fairweather.
The name of the mountain was given by Colin Robertson, a famous traveler of the 19th century.
The peak is considered one of the most beautiful in all of North America. It is distinguished by the vertical structure of the relief, it stands out noticeably among the surrounding nature. At the same time, Mount Robson is considered one of the most difficult to conquer on the continent. Even on local four-thousandths the percentage of successful ascents is much higher. Robson is conquered by only 10% of climbers, which is explained by the presence of extremely difficult routes. In addition, travelers are greatly hampered by weather conditions.

Interesting facts
The Canadian Rockies are relatively young. Geologists believe that they are no more than 75 million years old.
The climatic conditions here are quite harsh. There is a clear dominance of the mountain taiga. The warmest month is July. During this short warm period, the temperature can reach 28 degrees Celsius. In January, the temperature drops to minus 14 degrees Celsius. Precipitation is rare. In general, the climatic conditions are comfortable for traveling.
The permanent inhabitants of the Rocky Mountains of Canada are snow sheep. This is an amazingly beautiful animal, which the indigenous population calls a chub.
The snow sheep is the most common inhabitant of the Rocky Mountains
However, it will be difficult to meet a snow sheep, because he prefers to hide in the highlands. Where there are sheep, there will also be predators. Grizzlies, wolves, lynxes and cougars often wander into the Rocky Mountains. There are other herbivores here, for example, white-tailed deer, moose, as well as various rodents. Travelers are practically not in danger of encountering poisonous snakes, because they rarely visit the territory of the mountains, preferring prairies.
